Audio Systems: amplifier connection, multichannel power, upper middle class

Question
I have a multichannel power amp and a receiver (Emotiva). To connect them together, should I use regular RCA type analog cables or digital interconnect cables?

thanks a lot.

Sincerely,

Vlad

Answer
RCA interconnect cables are just fine for analog sound.  Analog is good for most high fidelity systems.

If you are a golden ear and can hear small nuances in the sound then you may want to use the digital option. This is a higher audio sound quality and more technical and more prone for technical problems, but it is the best sounding.  As a general rule I tell my correspondents that unless they have speaker systems that are in the over $1,000 price area they probably won't hear any substantial difference in switching over to digital interfaces.

All that being said, Emotiva is really good upper middle class technology and worthy of the best connections.

Hope this helps.
