Audio Systems: Dogde Caravan, dogde caravan, chrysler stereo

I have a Chrysler stereo/cd player in my 1998 Caravan Part No P04704373AC.  The volume control knob turns the radio on also by pushing is.  It has two numbers on itVR476 and CN666.  The case also indicates that the radio is made by Alpine Electronics. I have search the web and cannot seem to get a handle on anyone who would have the part.  It is held in be a retaining nut around the control shaft and have a 4-wire pin connector.  Any ideas who might stock this part?

if that is indeed your problem, you will have to take it out to measure resistance, and to be able to measure pin length and distance between pins and pin configuration, then go to a site like mouser electronics and go through their listings to find an exact replacement. normally the numbers on it are just vendor numbers and they don't mean anything helpful to you or me. note.. i've never seen one go bad....good luck.
in all honesty, i recommend going to a junkyard and just getting whole replacement exact model stereo. that will save you bunches of time and headache.
