Audio Systems: lincoln 96 stereo, fuse box, stereo unit

Question
I have checked the fuses both in the hood and the fuse box and the y all have power but the stereo does not power on.

Answer
ONE: Do you have a vom? Do you know how to check voltage?
TWO: You can purchase a vom at Home Depot or Walmart for under $10.  You can also purchase a lightbulb voltage tester.
THREE: You must see if there is voltage getting to the stereo unit.  Could be broken wire or bad fuse that tests good but is not.
FOUR:  Check speaker wires for short.  A dead short on speaker wire will cause radio unit to shut down.  Reset is necessary to revive it.
FIVE:  It is getting old; could be defect inside the stereo unit itself.
