Chevrolet Repair: Chevy S-10 blinkers/flasher, google search, ash tray

Question
I own a 96 Chevrolet S-10 SS pickup and have recently come across a problem with my blinkers.  They stopped very abruptly one day.  There has been no intermittent flashing and my hazard indicators continued to work.  I've checked circuit breakers and I pulled out all the wiring looking for a short or any grounding and found none.  I've also looked for a flasher and couldnt locate one.  The only thing I have not checked is the steering column assembly and that is simply because of the fact that there is an airbag that I dont want to deploy and I'm not too keen on steering columns.  I think the problem lies in the column assembly and that is because recently my hazard indicators stopped flashing and my wiper blades will refuse to turn on from time to time.  Any advice you could offer me would be extremely appreciated.  Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hello Rick,
Right off, I will tell you that the wiper problem is a well known problem, called a cold solder joint on the wiper module board. it may be covered by a long term recall/campaign, but at any rate, is very easy to repair. Do a Google search on GM Wipers.
Or go to this site....www.chevytalk.org/
You may need to sign in to search, but it is FREE.

Now, the flasher is separate from the emergency flasher, and should be in a clip on the underside of the dash, beside the steering column, just to the right side of it. Behind what is called the knee bolster. Beside the ash tray.
Check the fuse first.
