Audio Systems: My mach 1000 car stereo unit, ford mustang gt, stereo head unit

Question
I have a 2003 ford mustang gt with a mach 1000 stereo head unit, 2 rear amps under the speakers. the other day my bass just stopped working, I figured it was my amps but after replacing them and it didn't work I figured something else is going on. I checked to make sure that there was power getting to the amp , and there was not, I have checked all the fuses under the dash and under the hood, with the exception of the relay fuses. do you have any idea what I should do?

Answer
If power is not getting to the amp first check the ground wire.  It must be fastened to a metal place on the chassis with good, solid surface to surface connection.  Check for rust or corrosion that might have set in.

Once you know the ground is good, use a vom to trace the 12v line back to the battery.  If you want to just test the amps, you can run a separate long line directly from battery to the 12v terminal on the amp to verify it is working.  BUT: Be sure the remote turn on line is activated so the amp will turn on.

Hope this gets you to the bottom of the problem.
