Suzuki: 1988 Samurai engine losing oil, oil filler cap, oil pressure switch

Question
My vehicle has 97,000 original miles, recent timing belt change plus valve adjustment and plug wires, plugs etc..  However I have noticed 1/2 quart of oil loss when vehicle is driven for 30 minutes or more at 60 MPH. Engine does not smoke or run poorly but when engine is idling I have removed oil filler cap and found a substantial amount of backpressure blowing out. Oil also seems to be leaking from either the distributor mount or out of filler cap?

Answer
The distributor housing on the back of the cylinder head is a very common leak.  If I remember correctly there's a gasket and an o-ring sealing respectively, the housing, and the oil pressure passage for the oil pressure switch.  It's a rather easy job, just make certain you have the sealing parts.
