Audio Systems: Amp Overload, inch subs, crossover frequency

Question
I am having a problem with my amp overloading for some reason and i dont know what it is.  At first when i installed my system, it overloaded because i didnt have the amp at a reasonable frequency.  Then for about two weeks it worked great, and then randomly on the road it overloaded and now i cant turn the gain up much at all before it overloads.  what can i do or check, and what should i put the frequency at?  I have two 12 inch subs 1200 watt peak 600 rms found on this site
http://pyleaudio.com/itemdetail.asp?brand=&cat1=Car Audio&cat2=Woofers&model=PL1295BL
and 2400 watt amp found here
http://pyleaudio.com/itemdetail.asp?brand=&cat1=Car%20Audio&cat2=Amplifiers&mode...
I also have a 2.4 farad power cap..
These sites include manuals for each.  I dont know if i should have a more powerful amp or what, but they worked fine a week ago. Whatever you can help me with i truly appreciate it thanks!

Answer
The most common cause of overload cut out is wiring; shorts or intermittent connections along the way. A loose ground or poorly connected ground will do it, also.   Check all connections, make sure the grounds are good, sanded metal to metal contact, etc.

Also, a shorted voice coil in one of the speakers will cause same problems.

The setting of the crossover frequency to the subs should not be a factor; it is for sound quality through the low frequency range.

Do this:  Disconnect all speaker wires from the amp at the amp terminals.  Then check to see if it still goes into overload.  If it does, the amp needs servicing.  If okey with no loads, connect only one speaker and try; then the other speaker.  Using the process of elimination you should be able to zero in on the problem.

Let me know if you need more.
