Car Stereos: Aftermarket Deck Installation Help, chevy tahoe, deck installation

I'm replacing my factory deck with an aftermarket one on my 2000 Chevy Tahoe. I bought the appropriate wiring harness adapter and got all the wires matched up. When I go to turn it on, everything works except there is no sound. Did I miss something?

Hi Brad.

Yeah you probably forgot to connect the blue/white wire coming out the vehicle harness to the blue/white wire coming out your radio this is a common mistake, see your vehicle's sound system works with factory amplifiers, every speaker its factory amplified, so when you change the factory head unit those amplifiers loose power so, you need to send them the turn on signal, thats why you need to connect the amplifier turn on lead on your radio to the factory harness.
