Audio Systems: In trunk CD changer with remote, forward button, private owner

I have an Audiovox/Prestige P-195 in trunk CD changer with remote. The remote and the changer both work, but we aren't getting any sound from the speakers. It appears to be connected to the radio, but there was no manual in the car to let me know how to operate the changer (I just bought the car from a private owner). Any help would be appreciated!

put a cd in disc 1 and play a song that you know start singing in your mind
no go to the radio switch to fm and start at 88.3 if you don't hear the song press the forward button or seek and move the stations up stop at 88.9 and keep going until you hear the song
