Audio Systems: voltage, zr1000 kicker amp, duty alternator

Hi Cleggsan,

          Im running two 15inc.fosgate subs with a ZR1000 kicker amp as well as a ZR240 kicker.along with a eclipse deck and dimond audio mids in a old chevy.what would be the best back up battery for the stero?

Best thing you can do is install a heavy duty alternator and extra large battery.

Also, I would recommend you put power caps on each amplifier.  That helps smooth out the peak demands on the vehicle electrical system. You can buy the online, from eBay and local car system shops.  They cost from $50 to $200 depending on what capacity you choose.   Should be at least 1 farad or more.  They go all the way up to 6 farads; obviously cost goes up, too.
