Audio Systems: Adapter cable pinout, factory radio, ford expedition

Question
I'm helping a friend to see if his Audiovox SP-6CDS 6 CD changer is bad (totally dead) or if the problem is his factory radio (I think it is, it looks like it) is not "communicating to the cd changer. Do you know the pinout to check the voltages on the mini-DIN plug? This is on a 2000 Ford Expedition.

pull the radio out and check the purple or gray wire for power and there are 2 black and white they need to have ground  
the sp6 cd is a very good unit  but it was not factory    the only problems can be the cd changer cable CDC-FDN
or the power connection of that cable  i will check that before replacing the cd changer
