Honda: 1989 honda accord lx, vacuum lines, honda accord

Question
i have a 1989 honda accord lx carb engine and in the morning when i start the car it will start and then the rpm's will drop down and the car will shut off and when i try to start it again it won't start.  i think it might be that the choke plate is stuck but im not sure any suggestions?

Answer
It can be one of several things but I would check the EGR valve first. It may be clogged with carbon build up. I have known several older hondas that suffered the same symptoms only to find this partiular part clogged. Another thing is to check your vacuum lines ( sadly there are a lot on the accord). Vacuum lines of this old of a car often crack and is not something owners routinely replace, it can cause the same symptoms.
