Audio Systems: radio, pontiac montana, radio unit

I have 2004 Pontiac Montana van that the radio will NOT quit scanning. The radio also has a 1 disk cd player. It beeps and will change stations constantly. It also does this when playing a cd. We've tried following instructions in manual but no luck. Any suggestions?

Better take it into a good repair/install shop where they can repair it (An IC has lost its mind it appears) but expect to pay about as much as just replacing the unit with a new aftermarket unit.

BUT: It is possible the IC soft codes have been corrupted.  You can check for that by doing a hard reset.  The power to the radio unit must be disconnected for about 30 minutes; then powered up again. You can remove power by lifting one of the cables from the car's battery (doing so will remove power from everything in the car so you will have reset everything - like the clock and any codes the car needs).  Or if you know how you can pull the fuse out that feeds the radio unit - and put it back in.
