Audio Systems: What amp should i get, watts rms, power transistors

I have one kicker comp cvt 12 inch @ 4 ohms with 400 watts RMS and I am wondering what the best amp is to power it.

Kicker is good stuff.  I like them ok.  Any amp will do the job; amplifier imperfections are minimal compared with loudspeakers - which are very inaccurate in comparison with amplifiers.

Wattage ratings are not of great importance. The most important thing to look for is proper impedance matching and plenty of heatsink area where the power transistors are mounted.

Amplifiers are not expensive, so don't be afraid to experiment.  Look through some of the reviews and pick based on experience of others.  You can google for the reviews and find many of them online.
