Audio Systems: Audio on Dell TV, sound receiver, cable box

I was wondering if you might have any idea why the audio would just all of a sudden be gone on my Dell television...it is only 2 years old...hooked to a surround sound system...but when I turn the surround sound system off and attempt to turn the volume up on the TV itself it still has none...just a small buzzing noise that gets louder when you increase the volume on the remote...??  Thank you for any help you might have.

Is you antenna signal going right to the TV or your surround sound receiver? Do you use a cable box? My recommendation is that audio should go through your surround system not the the TV. I can tell you no more until I have answers to the above questions.
