Audio Systems: 1990 buick park avenue, buick park avenue, fuse boxes

Question
my park avenue radio wont turn on, i assume its because the antenna does not raise up when i turn the car on. any help on what to look at or what to replace would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
If the antenna is not going up it could be for lack of 12v either direct to the motor or from the radio unit which sends a 12v ON signal to the antenna.

If the radio is dead I suspect that is the cause of the antenna not going up due to loss of the 12v signal to it.

If the radio comes ON but is not producing audio because the antenna did not go up that could be a fuse, bad ground or broken wire feeding the antenna the main 12v supply to the raising motor.

Have you checked all the fuses?  There are two fuse boxes in this car; one in the engine compartment near the battery and one inside the car under the dash (usually around the drivers side).

Hope this helps you find out what may be at fault.
