hi Cleggsan,how do i remove the radio in my E240 MB inorder to retrieve the serial No.,i also need a code to unlock the radio in code mode.help

You need a removal too.  You did not give the year, but I think one of the following tools can help you.

I found these removal tools on eBay, also, for as little as $5.00 - including shipping.

The removal tool releases the catch and hold mechanisms so the radio body can slide out.

PS: You must get the theft code from a MB dealer; you will have to show proof of ownership, also.  If the dealer cannot obtain it you can purchase it at places like:

The typical fee to retrieve the code is around $25 to $30.
