Nissan Repair: Its Chad again..., auto zone, blower motor

Question
QUESTION: So I installed the ac blower motor, relay, and fuses and my AC worked great for about a week. Last week when I switched the AC on full speed it would work for about 5 seconds and then blow the fuse. I replaced the fuse, and again same thing happened. So I just drove with it on level 3 that worked for a few days and then on Wednesday I noticed that even on 3 that the air wasn't coming out very strong and then it just shut off completely. I tried replacing the fuse again but now nothing works again.

Do you think that would be caused by a bad wiring connection? and could that possibly messed up my ac relay?

I hope it is just my amateur wiring job and I didn't mess up any of my new parts.

Any help/advice would be awesome,

Thanks,

Chad

ANSWER: Hi Chad -

I don't think it is you.
Try replacing the resistor. It should be on the firewall (in the engine compartment passenger side) somewhere attached to the ductwork with a couple screws and one wire at each end. If it is not there, perhaps it is inside the vehicle under the dash middle part of the car, again attached to the duct.

Could be what is blowing the fuse.

Let me know -

QUESTION: Calvin,

I'll try changing the resistor, it probably won't be until tomorrow till I can get a new one from Auto Zone.
I think it is working though because I can hear the ac kick on, just no air is blowing out.

If it was my wiring could a bad connection make the motor malfunction? and since I ran it for like 2 days after i noticed that it didn't work on high, could that possibly have burnt up the motor?

Answer
Hi Chad -

Nope. Can't burn up the motor like that. Only if it was defective in the first place. Besides, you would smell a burning odor right before the fan went out if that was the case.

Try replacing that resistor and see how that goes.
