Audio Systems: Paradigm Subwoofer Servo 15a vs servo 15 new, 15a, crossover

I am considering the purchase of a Paradigm Servo 15a from someone who
bought it new in 2004. The condition is mint and the price is right, about 1/3 of
a new one. What do I lose not going new? Also do I need the X-30 crossover
box, which is not included, when running it through an Anthem Statement D2?

Good brand! You shouldn't go wrong with this speaker if it hasn't had much use. It is a system and therefore contains the amplifier and adjustable crossover from 35hz to 150hz. You should be able to drive it with any full range line output (approx .5v to 1.5v).
