Audio Systems: car stereo and amp, rockford fosgate punch, pioneer deh p3600

Question
I installed a pioneer DEH-P3600 and a Rockford Fosgate Punch 201S which is connected to a RF 10" S/W.  It worked great for about 3 weeks.  I was messing around with the remote and hit the ATT button.  This lowered the volume as expected and when I pressed it again the audio increased as expected.  However, it only played through the S/W for about 5 seconds and then the S/W quit working.  The main fuse is ggod.  I have power to the amp which lights up.  I have tried disconnecting power to head unit to reset.  I have checked all fuses and connections.  Everything looks good just no S/W.  All other speakers work.  Any suggestions would be great.

Answer
Did you disconnect power to the sub amp in order for it to reset?

Also, check the wiring; sometimes with subs the wiring vibrates loose and the connection is broken at the speaker terminals or at the amp output.

I doubt if the sub shut down is related to the att button.  Probably a transient pulse hit it and sent the sub amp into oblivion or overloaded an output stage.  A reset might bring it back to life.

Since there is a lamp/light on the amp that is a good sign.

Hopefully you will be able to find the trouble and restore it to full working condition.

Good Luck,
