Audio Systems: 2001 Malibu LS Speaker installer, ohm speaker, 4 ohms

hello my name is neil.. and i have a 2001 malibu LS and i want to install a 1000 watts speaker in the back and i dont know which wire to cut and which wires to connect could you please tell me how to do it and how i can install the speaker ? thanks for you time

I need to know the make and model of the speaker.

Also, you must know the impedance of the new speaker; it must be equal or larger than the one you are replacing.  If the current unit is a 4 ohm speaker, the new one must be 4 ohms or greater.

If the new speaker is a dual coil design you must determine from above to wire it in series or parallel.

If the new speaker is okey for impedance and is only one voice coil, the wire connected to the plus terminal on the old speaker must be connected to the plus terminal on the new speaker and so on.
