Audio Systems: denon av surround receiver wont work ?, denon avr 2105, blown fuse

Question
i bought the denon avr-2105 2yrs ago, recently started playing it to the max. sound level suddenly the power light started go blink on and off the display would show briefly then go off called tech support after 1/2 hr wait the first thing he said was it needed servicing, i'm 52yrs old and i've bought a lot of systems in my time the only thing i've had to service was a blown fuse on a pre-amp is this something i could do on my own or do i have to let them dig into my pocket any help would be appreciated TIA.

Answer
First, try a hard reset. To do this, unplug the power cord for at least 1/2 hour then try it again.

If the hard reset does not bring it back to normal you will need servicing. This is a very sophisticated receiver and is not a home remedy repair job.

There is a major problem with the power supply and/or a voltage regulator that controls the volume adjustment logic drivers.  It will require an expert tech who knows the topology of the circuit.  Take it to an authorized Denon service depot for the best repair.

Hope this will help.
