Audio Systems: Speakers, pioneer deh 1400, pioneer unit

Hello,
I have a 1993 Lincoln Continental Executive Series and I tried installing a Pioneer DEH-1400 After Market stereo.  I connected the wire to the adapter and all that happens is the stereo turns and everything and plays but there is no sound. Could you help find my problem?

If you go this site:

you can find a wiring harness for your vehicle.  Then, with the wiring chart from the manual of the Pioneer unit you can match the proper wires so the speakers will connect properly to the amplifier outputs.

Or, you can use an ohmmeter to trace out the speaker wires going to each of the speakers; then solder or bridge them to the correct amplifier output wires.

But, the harness is a better idea in case it may need to be removed at some time in the future.  The connector can merely be unplugged.
