I can't get the remote display to come up . Shouldn't you be able to see it wether it's on or not? I've also depressed the reset button on it - and when releasing it I hear the sound on the speakers cut out momentarily, like it is resetting . The player on the other hand works , but is not being read by the remote - so - no music - no remote display .Radio to 89.1 fm

This is not a "young" changer any more. It may be unworthy of repairs.

In any event, I think the only solution for you is to take it in to a competent repair shop where they can open it up and analyze what is going on.

Before doing that, however, you might want to do a hard reset just to see if it will restore it.  To do the hard reset you must totally remove power to it either by disconnecting the power lines or removing power in the car by lifting the + terminal of the battery or by pulling the unit completely out of the car for 30 minutes.
