Car Alarms: my factory alarm disabled my engine., buick lesaber, greatest news

Question
I have a 1995 buick lesaber custom. It came with a 3800 series 2 engine. I
left the interior lights on inside the car and it drained the battery. I
replaced the battery but the car won't start. I tried to disengaged the
alarm but the engine still won't start.

Answer
Yes, this vehicle has VATS (vehicle anti theft system)
from GM in it and it was reset.

When the battery was removed, it terminated
the key pellet code.

You will need to go to GM to have it reset,
or, anyone who can re write the GM codes to
reset it.

Some times the ignition key in, turn to the on
position, and leave that way to reprogram VATS
has been known to work, but no real guaranty.

Sorry about that.

Not always the greatest news here I am afraid.

Good luck.
