Audio Systems: tv to reciever, toshiba hdtv, rca male

Question
Hi
I have a reciever that I have hooked up to outside speakers.
I would like to hear the music channels that I have on my Toshiba HDTV from my outside speakers. How do I connect the tv audio to my reciever( older model JVC)so that I can hear my fav tv channels outside?
Thanks

Answer
If the JVC receiver has an free RCA input then you can use it by plugging the audio output of the TV via RCA male to male cables into whatever input is available of the JVC. This will only work providing the Toshiba has an audio outputs that tracks the TV (RF or antenna) signal. If you are using cable or satellite then you would not use the Toshiba at all and buy 2 RCA Y spitters (2 female to 1 male). You then would take the output from your cable or satelite box and split them between the Toshiba inputs and JVC inputs. I use plural since I am referring to stereo left and right channels. This will also give you TV channel sound through all of your stereo speaker.
