Audio Systems: installing speakers on a 1993 toyota camry, toyota camry, inch speakers

Question
my questions regard my 1993 toyota camry LE four door sedan.

i was just wondering if you know of any templates that i can use to install 6x9 speakers and 4 and a half inch speakers in my front doors; and to install 6 and a half inch speakers in my rear doors.

Answer
It is always best to buy speakers that fit your car.

Front door speakers for this car are 6 1/2 and rear deck are 5 1/4 size.  But not all manufacturers make the hole mounting in the same place for a same size speaker.  So, you must be careful.  If you are planning to mount a speaker of a different size over in the hole allowed for in the door you must use some kind of adapter.  The manufacturer of the speaker usually supplies a drawing of the hole mounting configuration so you can make your own mounting ring.  Then by knowing what your mounting configuration is in the car door you can make an adaptor board that will keep it an airtight installation.  If you are mounting a speaker which is larger than what the door cutout allows you may have to enlarge the hole in the doors.

Is it clear enough for you?

Now, finally, you can obtain adapter plates of some configurations from crutchfield.com by going to their selection of components for this car year and model and clicking on mounting hardware items for the speakers they list for the proper fit.

Similarly, places like
http://www.mjmautoinnovations.com/speakeradapters.htm
will sell you various kinds of plates to adapt one speaker to a mounting opening.
