Audio Systems: Car Radio Problems, antenna input, antenna connection

Question
Recently my Jensen Radio/CD player stopped picking up radio stations. When I press scan it just shuffles through the stations but never picks up anything. When I manually go through the channels, all I get is static. The CD player works fine. I purchased a new antenna and that didn't help. I checked the fuses and they are all fine. I pulled the stereo out and checked all the wires and grounds and they all seem to be fine as well. Any suggestions on other things to try before buying a new antenna adaptor and wire or stereo? Thanks.

Answer
Since it is scanning it is likely not the tuner.

I think it is the antenna connection or the connector; somehow signal from the antenna is not getting to the input of the Jensen unit.  So check it out.

If you can get to the antenna input connector, pull the antenna cable out, put a short wire stub into the antenna input hot wire and touch your finger to it and you should be able to pick up the local stations.  That will prove the receiver is working properly or not.  If so, then you must have a bad antenna or cable.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more.
