Audio Systems: Replacement alternator needed?, 2005 chrysler 300, chrysler 300

I have a 2005 Chrysler 300 limited edition which means no hemi, it has a 3.5L V6 engine and when i replaced my factory deck with JVC exad double din dvd touch screen i cannot increase the volume over 40% without getting what sounds like distortion. I dont have that issue when car is not running. Is this the signs of a weak alternator, because i've tried two different decks and same issue.

It is quite possible that it is a user setting, a bad ground.. or the speakers are not directly compatable impedance-wise with the new head OR the old system has an existing amplifier that you are overdriving.
It is quite UNlikely that you are pulling more amperage with that headunit than the alternator can provide.
I would go to www.crutchfield.com and ask them if you have an amp that you need to bypass..ect.
