Dodge: 98 dodge ram 1500 4wd grinding noise is front end, dodge ram 1500, hub assembly

Question
When i go in a right turn, I hear a grinding noise on the passenger side. I took off the rotor and caliper and the rotor is grinding the spindle. What could cause this?

Answer
Without seeing it I would have to say your wheelbearing/hub assembly is bad, allowing enough play for it to tip enough for the rotor to his the spindle. Lift the pass side of the vehicle up. Grab the tire at 12:00 and 6:00 and wiggle the tire in and out. You shouldn't have any play. If there is play at all, you need to replace the wheel bearing. It may not move enough by hand to actually make the rotor hit the spindle, but under load it easily could.
