How would I repair the, electrical or mechanical problem that is causing the error to occur?

First of all, unless you are a specialist in car sound systems there is not much you can do to repair it. I would go to the Pioneer USA mobile website and find the model, then I would go into the manual for that model and see if there are codes for that error message in the Trouble Shooting section. At least that will give you an idea of what might be wrong. There is always the possibility that there will be a simple manuever (non invasive) that you can do but I wouldn't count on it.
