Audio Systems: my subs, sony explod amp, kicker subs

alright i just blew out my kicker subs i had which were 400 watts each. i have a 1200 watt sony explod amp and i saw some new subs at bestbuy that are sony explod 1300 watt for each sub. will my amp handle this or will i need a bigger amp?

so that I can elaborate and provide the schooling you need in this situation.
It is sad (yet typical) that you blew up a nice set of Kicker speakers with a poor, Sony amp (why do you think they call them xplodes?).
I will give you a simple answer since this is a public question.
Your amp can power them. I will point out that any speaker can be damaged from abuse and/or improper amplifier gain setup. This includes 4000 watt speakers ran off of a small, 200 watt amp!
