Audio Systems: cd changer in 2003 caravan, dodge caravan, multi cd

I have a 6 cd stereo in a 2003 dodge caravan. A few days ago I put 3 cd's in the stereo and left 3 slots empty. When it reached the end  of the third cd it gave an error message for cd #4 and since that time it will not eject or play any of the 3 cd's in it ' It keeps giving an error message. Did this happen because I did not have 6 cd's in there? Also what can be done to fix the problem.

Probably not. All of the multi CD changers are tested with 1 or all CD's in the slots. It sounds to be a microprocessor. The best you can hope for is to turn the engine on and off several times to see it the power off cycle resets it. It could also be as simple as a bad CD that squeaked through during playback and then the reader is getting hung up on a CD error. It's an automobile so it's not the kind of thing that is easy to tinker with. You may need to visit a shop that specializes in CD changers
