Audio Systems: Ground Wire Connect, alternator whine, signal cables

Question
Where would you suggest grounding my amplifier in my 2004 Dodge Neon?

Answer
Depends on where the amp will be. The amp should be mounted so it does not contact ground such as a wood amp "rack" or panel. Usually the bets place is under the rear seat, as some factory ground points are there already. As always, test your install with the engine running before putting the trim back on, to make sure there is no alternator whine coming out of your speakers. Run your signal cables down the opposite side of the car from any major factory harnesses, and your power cables down the opposite side from your signal cables.
