Audio Systems: swapping premium sound system, mazda mpv, 2002 mazda mpv

Question
I own a 2002 Mazda MPV, with 6-cd player with premium sound.  I just bought a 2006 MPV as a replacement. I want to move the premium sound system from the 2002 to the 2006. The 2006 has 2 speakers and 2 tweeters in the front.  In the rear there are only 2 speakers but the wiring is there for 2 tweeters. There is no wiring for the Woofer which is the main part that I want to move from the 2002. The plug to the woofer in the 2002 has 7 wires.  Is it possible to wire the woofer into the 2006? The 2006 has a 1-cd player.

Answer
Anything is possible, but how much are you willing to do? You may have to transplant the entire harness/radio/amp/speakers from one vehicle to the other. There are other issues to consider as well. Are any other vehicle systems going to be affected? Some vehicles now have the restraint reminders in the audio system, as well as use a data bus system. It can be done, but the complexity may not be worth it in the end. I would recommend just adding an after market amp driving a factory sub if you must, and upgrading the speakers to after market as well. If these vans were the same year, this would change everything. Vehicles change too fast now for this to be an easy swap.
