Audio Systems: EQ to Preamp, xlr outputs, phone plugs

can you tell me how to hook up a dbx 231 EQ  to an adcom 710 preamp with rca to 1/4" unbalanced connectors?

Yes.

Use cables with rca on one end and phone plugs on the other.

But according to my information the DBX 231 has xlr outputs.

Above are just examples of cables that will go from xlr to rca and from rca to 1/4 phone.  You can find many, many others by googling.  Also, they are available at music, audio and electronic stores.
