Audio Systems: Bose 02 Nissian Maxima, nissian maxima, digital signal processor

We just purchased a 02 Nissian Maxima car and the CD player will not play any CD's.  We get a CD error F3.  What does this mean and is there a way to fix it without pulling the stero out?

The problem with the cd player is either the laser diode is gone OR the digital signal processor is defective.  Either way the cost of repair is very high. With a set this old you may be better off by replacing it with a new unit.

Unfortunately, you must have this done by a professional installer because the Bose system is unconventional and other aftermarket replacements and add-ons don't do well.  Or, if you rip out the entire bose system and start over with a new unit, that would be alright.

Here is another alternative.  Just add a cd changer that will mount in the trunk. Here is a possibility:

I think it will go in your Maxima, but before buying it, please confirm with the dealer to make sure.
