Audio Systems: 1999 Regal cassette, buick regal, regal ls

I own a 1999 Buick Regal LS with factory cd and cassette deck. I never have and never will use the cassette deck. The problem I am having is: The cassette deck tries to load a tape with none in it. It gives me an error reading (E00), which is not in my owners manual. I called the local dealership and they had no clue what the warning meant. This problem has occurred before but is happening constantly now so I can't listen to a cd or the radio because everytime this happens it goes to the tape deck eventhough there isn't a tape in it ( very, very annoying). Anyway, all I want to do is either fix this problem permanently or disable the tape deck all together seeing as I am never going to use it!!

the tape deck needs to be repair there is no other way out
couple of weeks ago i took the radio from a park avenue 99 and
remove the tape deck  and the radio shows tape on the screen and can not play the cd or radio

also you can buy a tape radio on ebay i seethem go for $10.00 sometimes just to remove the tape player and install in your radio  the plain radio and the cd player are the same and use the same tape deck
