Audio Systems: AM Freq. not working, chassis grounds, vw jetta

I am hoping you can help me with my radio issue. It is a 04 VW Jetta with the Monsoon radio that the AM has gone out. FM is fine, but no AM. Have heard this is common in VWs, wondering if there is a fix?

Most frequent cause of AM signal loss is poor antenna connections. Often it is a bad ground on the antenna itself or the cable coming in from the radio.  IT will work on fm because of the much higher frequency, but if you get AM fixed it will improve the fm reception.

So, check the antenna mounting, the wiring, the chassis grounds and the connector at the radio.  See if that doesn't clear it up.
