Audio Systems: my sytem 94 dodge colt, sound proof material, car cd player

Question
Right now my sytem is an alpine head unit, alpine 6 1/2' and some cheapy 6x9's a alpine mono 400 watt amp with 2 jbl 10's. it sounds good, but i want to get get better tremble and im wondering what 4 channel amp is good. also any tweeters that you reccomend..

My other problem is that my cd player suts off on me if i turn it up to loud, it did this in my other car also before i had an amp. and has done it ever since.

I was also wondering if plexiglass acts as a good sound proof material? i was thinking of doing an amp display someday in the future in my trunk

Answer
Speakers:  Go to crutchfield.com to find out which speakers are good ones and fit your car.  They are the best in telling you what fits and works for each model car.

CD player: If you are getting shut down when turning up the volume either the amplifier is being overloaded (playing it too loud) or there is a shorted speaker wire or speaker somewher in the system - a very common problem with older installations.

Plexiglass is okey to isolate high frequencies, but no good for bass sounds.  In cars use of plexiglass is generally just for looks and cosmetics, not for acoustics.
