Audio Systems: turntable to receiver question, hk 3250, harmon kardon

Question
i am trying to connect a Sony PS-LX35OH turntable that has two audio cables
with a ground wire to a Harmon Kardon  HK 3250 receiver which does not have a
ground wire connection.  Is this possible?  thanks,

Answer
Hi Bill,

A turntable *must* be grounded, or you'll get a feedback hum or noise.  If there's no ground available on the receiver, there are other ways to ground things, but it would require figuring out if there are any grounding areas / connections on the receiver, or you can ground the turntable to some other component in your system.  In short, any ground will do, you'll just have to find one, even if you have to resort to grounding off the power supply.  Good luck!  Cheers, Wink
