Audio Systems: Where the crap is the amp, premium sound, speaker wires

Question
I have a 92 ford escort when I bought it, it had all original factory audio equipment. I recently replaced the speakers and am now in the process of replacing the head unit. However the head unit isn't compatible with the amp in the car and I need to either bypass the factory amp or remove it but i cant find the friggin thing!!

Answer
I'm a little fuzzy on the 92 escort, but the amp was either under the driver's seat, or at the bottom of the console on the driver's side. It can be a big job to bypass the Ford premium sound amp, but you might be in luck. Some just plugged into the basic harness that every car came with. If you can, remove the harness that runs to the Premium sound amp, and see if it runs down, and then back up behind the radio.

If all else fails, just run new speaker wires.

Cheers!
