Audio Systems: Making auxilary input for 2004 Taurus, ford radio, auto parts stores

Question
I used to own a '99 Sable, with which i created for myself a chord with an input for my ipod. I did this by connecting my chord (with necessary adapters) to the right and left audio cables behind the stereo faceplate (and ran it down to the floor where it was easily accessible).  Well, now i have a 2004 Taurus and am finding my attempts to remove the faceplate unsuccessful... and neither do i know if there are appropriate connections behind it for what i am trying to do.  Can you help me?

Answer
You will need an aux input adapter such as;

or ;

The head unit / heater combo removes as a single unit, using the Ford radio removal tools available at most auto parts stores.
