Audio Systems: 2001BMW316 ph7050 6CD Changer, cd magazine, sensor switch

Hi Kelly, my CD player was working up until last Saturday. I took out the CD magazine from the boot and put in a new CD, I replaced the magazine and slid across door as I've done many times before. When I got into my car and tried to play the CD the error "NO MAGAZINE" came up on the display. I then tried to take out the magazine but when I press the green eject button it doesnt come out. There's a small click when the button is pressed so there is power getting to the unit but then nothing happens, have you any idea whats wrong and how I'd fix it? Would I have to bring it to a dealer or would I be able to do it myself? Thanks Paul

Most likely the magazine sensor switch inside needs cleaning.
If you can remove it easily, you could take it to a repair depot yourself. If it is not easy to remove, the dealer should at least be able to get you an estimate of repair cost before they start.
