Audio Systems: Car radio problem, output transistors, rear speakers

Question
Hello there, I recently attempted to hook a 10" woofer by wiring it to one of the rear speakers in the car. It sounded pretty good for about three days, then all the rear speakers stop working. I later found out that I have crosssed the wire to the new woofer. The woofer has been disconnected, but still no volume to the rear speakers. Thank you for responding

Answer
Chances are the amplifier that was driving the rear speakers were overdriven and the output transistors need replaced.  It may be cheaper to just buy a new head unit.

BUT: Give me the make/model/year of your car and the audio system you have in it AND the woofer make/model that you connected in to the system.  Then, I can give you an engineering opinion.
