Audio Systems: home audio, seperate channels, klipsche

Question
Hi Jerry,

I am in the final stages of a grueling 9 month re-model!  Decision making capability is suspect at best right now for us.  I would like to get your opinion. I am purchasing a 46" Sharp LCD (92 series) - Our family room is 20' x 20' is pre-wired for 2 speakers in front and 2 speakers in back.  I assume that means I go with a 5.1 system?  I have 2 outdoor patio's that are also pre wired that I would like to have 2 outdoor speakers at both patio's.  Is there a system that can support both the home theatre (5 speakers) and the outside patio's (4 speakers)?   Can this system support listenning to 2 seperate channels (TV and a music channel)? Any recommendations on brands?  I like small functional speakers that can be wall mounted without being an eye sore

Thank You

Answer
You should ask this privately if you want a concise answer.
Yes, you should go with 5.1 in the living area.
You would need two tuners to do both tv and music at the same time of course, but it is easily feasible using two separate integrated receivers: a 5.1 five channel receiver for the tv system and a 4 channel receiver for the outdoor ones.
Onkyo makes what you need and is decent quality and good performance for the dollar.
You would not be able to listen to TV and music at the same time through one system.
Speakers.. I would suggest Alesis, Klipsche or Polk Audio.
