Audio Systems: grand am outputs, monsoon stereo, rear speakers

2001 grand am se, i was reading earlier on the monsoon stereo a guy was using a linout converter of the rear speakers to run to his amp,  you had said you would need to "pad" it, could u explain  in a more indepth way as to what i need to do as i am having the same problem.

A lineout converter is a pad. They are the same thing; the converter has an attenuator in it.

All the converter does is lower the voltages appropriately to feed into the amp.  Speaker level is generally too high for the input to an amplifier and it must be reduced.  Pad, attenuator, converter  -  all the same concept.

You can make one if you are an electronic tech; if not, better buy one.  There are many choices for them.
