Audio Systems: Amp choice for Infinity Reference 1252 Sub, infinity reference, 4 ohms

Hi i just bought an Infinity Reference 1252 Subwoofer in an enclosure and was wondering how high of a wattage amp i should get to support this single sub.  This sub is 300 rms with a 1200 or 1300 peak wattage...  any recommendations on what wattage amp to get, and also, does it matter how i wire it to the amp?

the 1252 is a dual voicecoil model.  YES it matters ALOT how you wire it. the sub is rated for 300 RMS so you should match that closely.  
I believe this sub is dual 4 ohms, so at 300 watts your best bet is to get a 2 channel amp, so you'd wire it like this:

this will give the amplifier an 8 ohm mono load.
