my aiwa cdc-x217 is getting power but wont turn on.  i can see the red security light beeping but it wont turn on.  all visible fuses are good.  sincerely,  at wits end.

Hi Brad,

Are you sure the security light isn't a sign that the unit isn't working or doesn't have the proper secure codes or panel.  That said, car stereos are exposed to weather extremes, hot/cold, wet/dry, and exposure to sun.  Any electronic unit can get power but not work properly - there's many things that can break and prevent it from working correctly.

The best you can do is take it in to a repair shop, although you'll find it's usually cheaper to buy a new one than have it fixed.  Good luck!  Cheers, Wink
