Audio Systems: Infiniti I 35 Bose Stereo, servo system, laser diode

What does ERR F3 mean?  The CD player refuses to spin the discs.  This same error appeared a few months ago so I disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes, reconnected it and left the stereo alone overnight and the unit had cleared itself of the error.  It doesn't appear, at this point, to have helped.  We got this error the first time by playing a home-burned CD.  This time my wife played a sample CD from a Rock magazine.  Any advice is appreciated.  Thanks, David

Did you try the reset again?  Usually, that will clear it.  If not, you may have a dead or weak laser diode OR a malfunctioning servo system (that drives the motor and disc platform).  

To do a full reset, by the way, you may have to leave the battery power off the player for 20 or 30 minutes.  Try that.
